With the release of Muppets Most Wanted just around the corner, the publicity department is ramping up their game.
The muppets have had a long history of using punny jokes or playing with words. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios you can seem many more titles like these. Sadly the chances are you’ll need to hunt out the parody film posters on Muppet*Vision 3-D as the queue rarely gets used. (They are to the right hand side).
Here are 18 of their “Most Wanted” Muppet remakes.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner at Tiffany’s
Originally staring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard, the new version will be Audrie Heartburn and George Peppercorn.
The Bride or Frog ‘N’ Swine.
Even the marionette string logo has had a bone makeover!
Driving Me Crazy.
A take on Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy as Driving Miss Daisy.
Face/off with a difference! The poster is in the style of Face off, but as the original was a Nicolas Cage / John Travolta splice, this one if piggy on piggy. The Face Lift is before and after, notice a perkier ear, curled eye lashes, a cheek crease has been ironed out and the nose has had a snout-aplasty.
Life if like a pond of frog spawn.
Frumpy Old Men
Statler and Waldorf are usually known for being just grumpy.
Jamie Pond 006 1/2 in Go
Hmm? Does this make Kermit the baddy as he’s sprayed Miss Piggy gold?
As long as the electric fences are working I’ll sleep well tonight. Notice the scale of Pig to Frog (isn;t that the correct size proportions for once?)
Lawrence of Amphibia
The pond world’s version of Lawrence of Arabia. Notice Rizzo the rat riding a turtle across the mud flats!
The Lunchbox of Notre Dame
Not to be confuse with “The Lunchbox of une autre dame”.
Men in Plaid.
No one wears sunglasses like Statler and Waldorf.
Let me see ya just bounce it with me, just bounce with me
Just bounce it with me c’mon
Mission : Improbable
Surely there is nothing improbable about a frog lowering a bear on a steel wire harness!
Hmm, best not comment about the films content.
Hair dryers and Wordsearches sounds like a good night in.
If you win, you win. If you lose, you still win.
The Sow of Music.
Its a perfect combo, music and swine.
